Congratulations Second Graders who received their First Holy Communion on Sunday April 2. It was a beautiful day for everyone. The second grade was able to receive communion for the first time at school this week at our daily mass. Saints in the making!

We were delighted to have Fr. Schneider SJ come visit our classroom to help us prepare for First Communion. He brought his mass kit to share with us. We all got to hold the chalice, patten, cross, purificator and cruets. We also got to try on the stole. Fr. Schneider assured us of his prayers for us as we continue our faith journey to become closer to God. Thank you Fr. Schneider!!

Lent- 2D came up with our own Lenten sacrifice. We discussed possible ideas that we could do as an entire class. We brainstormed many ideas and voted. We came upon spending the first three minutes of our afternoon recess in prayer. The students voted to say three Hail Mary’s, three Our Fathers and one minute of silent prayer. Several of the students thought that this would be a good idea because there are so many people who need our prayers. What a wonderful group of second graders. Thanks parents for creating such a positive and holy environment in your homes!
