Juice boxes and cheese balls!!! What does that have to do with pollination? The second graders turned themselves into butterflies and used cheese balls as pollen and juice boxes as nectar. We had a messy good time pollinating our flowers today. We’ve learned about animal classes and now plants. We are ready to move on to Animal Habitats!!!
*Our class Lenten theme is: “We are all called to be incredible.”
*At our school Rite of Enrollment this Wednesday, the congregation blessed the second graders who are preparing to receive the Holy Eucharist!!
Feast of St. Blaise
February 14, 2019
Fr. Kevin Schneider S.J. came in February to celebrate the Feast of St. Blaise. St. Blaise was a bishop and doctor who was taken to jail. On the way a woman asked him to bless her son who had a severe throat infection. God answered her prayers and her boy was cured. St. Blaise, pray for us!
12 Days of Kindness
December 7, 2018
Second grade has been celebrating 12 Days of Kindness. Our first day was to help others celebrate the season by donating a “snack” food item for St. Leo’s food pantry. Our kids brought in so many snacks! Some of the other days of Kindness include: praying for someone who has taken care of us, give three compliments to someone, surprising a family member by volunteering to do something at home or take care of our school by picking up trash. Making our community a kinder place is preparing our hearts for the birth of Jesus!!
This is my 23rd year at SPSL. I feel so blessed to teach both First Reconciliation and First Communion. I have two children and enjoy reading biographies.
