U.S. Citizenship

According to Article I of the U.S. Constitution the Legislative branch, Congress, is responsible for enacting legislation.  In accordance with that responsibility Congress has enacted laws pertaining to the processes, procedures, and requirements for becoming a U.S. citizen and for lawful entry into the United States.  By law and custom there have been established rights, duties, and responsibilities of being an American citizen, whether a citizen by birth or through immigration.
