More Than a School, It's a Community.
Students cozied up in the library during the last week before break. The lights were dimmed and Christmas scene with a fire place and soft music played on the screen in the room. Then we read some cozy stories or in the older grades read in cozy spots.
We also got into the mood of the season with our 8th grade contest. There was Christmas Trivia and hot chocalate!

Eighth graders put on their problem solving caps to compete in the November contest in multimedia class. To celebrate their time at SPSL each month we have some sort of competition that challenges them to think in different ways and of course we give out prizes!
For this contest the eighth graders worked in groups of 2-4 to try to build the tallest tower using 60 marshmallows and 50 toothpicks.
The winning group, won a hoodies and socks day for their class. 8B had the tallest tower at 22 inches
Students in kindergarten and first grade learned about the symbolism of the poppies for veterans day during the week of Nov 11. Then they got to make their own poppies with felt and pipe cleaners after listening to the story of Alex Fosco’s experience during the Battle of the Bulge. Fosco is the grandfather of the media specialist.
Hello. I am deeply glad to be a part of the SPSL team. I have 25+ years teaching in the Archdiocese of Omaha. I have a bachelor's degree in K-6 education and a masters in Instructional Technology with a K-12 specialization in Information Technology.
