It’s hard to believe we are just a few weeks away from Thanksgiving. We will be spending this time thanking God for all of the blessings that we have in our lives. This month we will be getting together with our 4th grade buddies, having a Thanksgiving celebration with all of the Pre-K students, and going to the all school pep rally! We are also soaking in this beautiful fall weather before winter settles in. We truly have so much to be thankful for here at SPSL!
Thank you to everyone that came to Open House this week. It was wonderful meeting so many new faces and seeing some familiar ones! We are so excited to welcome our Pre-K friends into our room next Monday. Miss Gillespie and I can’t wait to get to know our new Pre-K friends. It is going to be a fabulous year, full of learning and growing together. See you on Monday!!
Spring has sprung here in Pre-K! Even though the weather has been a bit chilly we are having so much fun learning about all of our spring themes: plants, butterflies, animals, and weather! In a couple weeks our caterpillars will arrive and we will observe them as they change into butterflies. It is always one of the most memorable experiences in Pre-K!
We have learned so much this year in Pre-K and the students have grown by leaps and bounds. At the beginning of May we will complete the final portion of our assessment portfolios and I’m so excited to see the growth reflected in their work!

Catholic Schools Week is coming up next week. We have so much to celebrate and so much to be thankful for here at SPSL. We have many fun activities planned.
This week we got together with our 4th grade buddies and signed the No Place For Hate banner. We will gather next week as a whole school to officially become a No Place For Hate School!
Catholic Schools Week will wrap up with Pre-K and Kindergarten Roundups on February 3rd. Please join us and come learn all about our program. We love our school and can’t wait to share all of the wonderful things about it!
It is hard to believe that it is already November! We have spent the last two weeks talking about what it means to be thankful and thinking of all the things that we thank God for. When we come back after Thanksgiving we will begin learning about Advent and the true reason we celebrate Christmas- Jesus!
We are gearing up for our Pre-K Christmas program. The kids have been hard at work practicing and I know they will do a wonderful job. 🙂
I hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving surrounded by those they love. I know I have much to be thankful for- and I am especially thankful for all of my students and their families!
We are welcoming Fall with open arms in Pre-K! We have many fun activities planned. We will be learning about and celebrating pumpkins. We will also be learning how fall is different from summer and how this affects the way we dress, play, and how long we have to enjoy the sunshine each day. In Religion we will be learning about the many wonderful things that God made.
We will also enjoy a special visit from some firefighters who will teach us about fire safety this month!

Spring has sprung in Pre-K! I can’t believe how fast the year is flying by. For the rest of this month and April, we will be learning all about spring, animals, plants, and insects. We will even be able to observe caterpillars changing into butterflies here in the classroom!
We are also very excited for our new playground equipment that will be showing up in the near future. The students are going to love it!
We have many fun things happening this spring: Mission Day and the Race for Education are two perfect examples of that. We have much to look forward to before this year is over. And of course, we are already hard at work practicing for the end of the year Pre-K Program. You won’t want to miss it! 🙂
It’s hard to believe Christmas break is already here. We have been having so much fun in Pre-K filling our days with Christmas projects, listening to Christmas music, practicing for our Christmas program, and most importantly preparing our hearts for Jesus!
I am so blessed to have such an amazing class with parents that are supportive in every way I could imagine. Thank you, parents, for all you do! I hope you all have a blessed and Merry Christmas!! We will see you back at school on Thursday, January 5th.

It is hard to believe that it is already November. This month we will be focusing on all the things that we are thankful for in our lives. We will be talking a lot about God’s creation and how we can help take care of everything that God created. At the end of this month we will meet with the other Pre-K students for a Thanksgiving dessert feast. We have so much to be thankful for here at SPSL!
It’s hard to believe that the new school year is upon us already. I am so excited to begin this school year with my new students and my amazing T.A., Mrs. Lampe. Memories are just waiting to be made and new experiences are just around the corner. I look forward to getting to know all of my students as we grow as family throughout this school year. It’s going to be an amazing year!

April is here, and hopefully warm spring weather as well! This month we are learning about animals, insects, and plants, oh my! We will be ordering our caterpillars soon so we will be able to observe them as they change into butterflies. We have been talking a lot about praying during this Lenten Season, and taking extra time to thank God for the gifts we have .
It’s hard to believe that the end of the year is right around the corner, but we still have lots of learning and fun yet to come!
We had a wonderful week celebrating Catholic Schools Week. There are so many reasons to celebrate! But most importantly, we are so thankful for all of our students and families that make this school such a wonderful place. We are truly blessed!

It is so great to be back in the classroom after a wonderful Christmas break. We have many exciting things coming up. We will celebrate Catholic Schools Week from January 30th to February 5th. We are truly blessed to learn in such a friendly and welcoming community here at SPSL and it will be fun to celebrate that during this special week.
On Saturday February, 5th we will be hosting our Pre-K Roundup! Roundup will begin at 10:30 in the cafeteria. I am looking forward to meeting the parents of our future students and sharing some of the amazing things that we do here in Pre-K! Please reach out with any questions you may have.

Here in Pre-k this month we are soaking up the holiday spirit and enjoying the hustle and bustle, but we are making sure to keep focused on the true meaning of Christmas!!
This week is our Pre-K musical, A Gingerbread Christmas. We will decorate gingerbread houses with our families afterward. It is one of my favorite Pre-K traditions here at SPSL.
We will also have the opportunity to see the 2nd and 4th grade Christmas musical and the 1st grade Christmas play next week, as well. We are so excited to share the Christmas spirit with these students in other grades.

It’s hard to believe it is already November. Time is flying by here in Pre-K! It was so great getting to meet with everyone for conferences last week. The students have grown so much already and I love to share with parents all the wonderful things we see in Pre-K.
This month we will be focusing on what we are thankful for! We will be learning about the five senses, turkeys, leaves, and much more! At the end of the month we will celebrate with a Pre-K feast. We have lots to look forward to here in Pre-K!
We love Fall here in Pre-K!! We are celebrating this season by exploring all of the wonderful things that God created; like apples, pumpkins, and leaves. We also celebrated River City Roundup Day recently, which is always an exciting day in Pre-K!
Next week is Fire Safety Week so we will be learning all about how to stay safe around fire. At the end of the month we will have Parent Teacher Conferences. I can’t wait to spend some time sharing with you all the amazing things that we have been up to in Pre-K, and talk with you about how much your child has grown already. We are having a wonderful time in Pre-K!
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! We are so excited to be back in the classroom and to begin our wonderful journey in Pre-K together. It is going to be an amazing year!
2021 is off to a wonderful start! It’s been great getting back into the routines of our classroom together. These past two weeks we have been learning all about polar animals and winter. Then in February, we will be exploring shadows and learning all about how to keep our teeth healthy!
It’s hard to believe, but Pre-K and Kindergarten Roundups are just around the corner! They will be held virtually on Saturday, February 6th. We will be sharing a ton of great information about our programs and we will be answering questions as well. We can’t wait to “see” you there!
It’s hard to believe Fall is already here! Our Pre-K students are loving the change in weather and the chance to play with freshly fallen leaves when we go out for recess.
Our school year is flying by as we have been hard at work and play in our room. This month we will be learning about community helpers, pumpkins, spiders, bats, and so much more! We are also hard at work preparing our assessment portfolios for Parent Teacher Conferences at the end of the month. These Pre-K kiddos ROCK and I am so proud of them!

This year is going to be incredibly special and I am so happy to be on this journey with you all! We are ready to get back into the swing of things in our classroom. My name is Sarah Saucier. This is my 8th year teaching Pre-K here at SPSL. I am a graduate of SPSL and I have been a part of the SPSL community for as long as I can remember! I graduated from UNO with a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. Before coming to SPSL, I taught first grade for four years.
