We are starting off March in Pre-K with Dr. Seuss Week! We have a lot of fun planned this week and many books to read! Speaking of books, as of today our class has listened to 216 books! We are aiming to make it to 300 books by the end of the year.
We have reached that wonderful point in the school year where everyone knows the rules and routines. We have also grown close as a classroom community over the past six months. Now we can really have some fun together with our learning! I am excited for all of the things ahead of us as we move into spring.
2026 is off to a great start. We are all happy to be back to our routines here in the classroom. We have spent this first week back learning about polar animals!
Catholic Schools Week is coming up at the end of the month. We have so much to be thankful for here at our school, and we have lots of fun activities planned to celebrate the many blessings we have here at SPSL.
Please mark your calendars for Pre-K and Kindergarten Roundups which will take place on Saturday, January 24th. It’s a great chance to learn about our program and see the classrooms! Please use this link to RSVP! Roundup
We are welcoming the start of Advent here in Pre-K. We are learning about how we can prepare for the birth of Jesus by being kind and loving to those around us. We will be spending the month focusing on the true meaning of Christmas!
We will also be reading lots of fun stories about gingerbread, elves, and Santa! Towards the end of the month, we will have our Pre-K Christmas Program. The students have been hard at work learning the songs for the performance. At the end of the performance, students will decorate a gingerbread house with their families. It is a wonderful tradition that families have been enjoying for many years. We are looking forward to it!
We have so much to look forward to this month in Pre-K. We are kicking off the month with Fire Safety week and a special visit from our local fire department! We will be learning about all things fall; leaves, pumpkins, and more! Later in October we will have our Pre-K Pumpkin Patch out back behind the Parish Center! Each student will get to find a pumpkin and decorate it. We will also enjoy some yummy apple cider and play some fun fall games. We will end the month with our Pre-K Halloween parade where we will tour the school to show off our costumes. 🙂
October is also our assessment month. I am so excited to work with each student to see what they have learned and how much they have grown in the past two months!
September is such a fun time in Pre-K! We have lots of engaging activities planned. We will be learning about and doing all things related to apples. Then, we will be focusing on one of my favorite themes- the farm. We will wrap up September with one of the most memorable days as a Pre-K student: River City Roundup Day!
I’m so proud of my students for learning all of the important rules and procedures of our classroom so quickly. Now we get to settle in and have some fun learning together. 🙂
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…back to school!! Tonight is our Open House and I am so excited to meet all of my new students and hopefully see some familiar faces as well. 🙂
The room is all ready, the plans have been made, now we just need to fill the rooms with our amazing students!
I wish you all a fantastic school year filled with joy and the love of learning.
Blessings,
Mrs. Saucier
It’s that bittersweet time of year where we are all excited for the year to wrap up but sad that we will have to soon say goodbye to each other! Our class has grown so much over the year. I’m so proud of all they have accomplished.
It is also one of the busiest times of the year with many fun events coming up! In May, we have Mission Day with our 4th grade buddies, Fun Day, and the Race for Education! We will also have our end of the year Pre-K musical program. And, in between all of that we will be finishing up our assessment portfolios. It will be a busy and exciting month! 🙂
We are enjoying all things winter here in Pre-K, even though we are all wishing for some snow!
We spent the first part of January learning about arctic animals and winter weather. We also opened up one of our favorite dramatic play centers: Hot Cocoa Stand!
Next week is Catholic Schools Week. It is one of my favorite weeks of the year! We have several fun activities planned to celebrate our wonderful school community. We have so much to be thankful for here at SPSL and Catholic Schools Week is the perfect opportunity to reflect on that.
Pre-K Roundup is coming up this Saturday, January 25th at 9:00am. I look forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting many new friends!

It’s hard to believe we are just a few weeks away from Thanksgiving. We will be spending this time thanking God for all of the blessings that we have in our lives. This month we will be getting together with our 4th grade buddies, having a Thanksgiving celebration with all of the Pre-K students, and going to the all school pep rally! We are also soaking in this beautiful fall weather before winter settles in. We truly have so much to be thankful for here at SPSL!
Thank you to everyone that came to Open House this week. It was wonderful meeting so many new faces and seeing some familiar ones! We are so excited to welcome our Pre-K friends into our room next Monday. Miss Gillespie and I can’t wait to get to know our new Pre-K friends. It is going to be a fabulous year, full of learning and growing together. See you on Monday!!
Spring has sprung here in Pre-K! Even though the weather has been a bit chilly we are having so much fun learning about all of our spring themes: plants, butterflies, animals, and weather! In a couple weeks our caterpillars will arrive and we will observe them as they change into butterflies. It is always one of the most memorable experiences in Pre-K!
We have learned so much this year in Pre-K and the students have grown by leaps and bounds. At the beginning of May we will complete the final portion of our assessment portfolios and I’m so excited to see the growth reflected in their work!
I hope everyone has a fantastic fourth quarter. Thank you to all of my families that have helped make this year a success!
