Mathcounts is a math program that teaches students problem-solving techniques and helps develop critical thinking skills. It was founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Students will be required to complete at least one hour or more of work prior to each meeting. Students from area high schools will be coaching the SPSL Mathcounts team. A qualifying test will be given in early February and the top ten students will represent our school at the local competition later that month.
