Robotics Club

The St. Pius X / St. Leo School Robotics Club will be participating in Lego League Jr. and Vex IQ robotics events this year. Students in grades K-8 are invited to participate by creating/joining teams and working together to design robots that can solve problems and play games.

Teams that wish to may compete in the local competition events or students may also decide to build a robot without competing.

Recommended team sizes are 3-5 children, with students in grades K-3 using Lego We Do kits, and students in grades 4-8 using Vex IQ. The students in grades 4-5 will compete in their own league this year, and students in grades 6-8 will be in a separate league.

Each team will need to have an adult volunteer coach. Students involved in Robotics Club will meet on most Thursdays from 6:15 – 7:15 p.m.

If a student is interested in enrolling in the SPSL Robotics Club, please fill out this form. Please submit 1 form for each child interested so we can get teams set up by grade level. The form also has a section for parent volunteers, which is very important. Please respond even if there are concerns around times, dates, costs or transportation. The club will do its best to find a fit for a student that wants to participate.

Most Thursday evenings from 6:15-7:15 pm with occasional other meetings for students who wish to compete.

1+ hours per week from October to May
